Ray Rice..Donald Sterling..Adrian Peterson..Jim Irsay. This year in sports has been filled with a variety of stories that have collectively emerged as reflections of current social issues. From racism to child abuse to domestic violence, the world of sports has had it ALL, and the media has been right there with the coverage. Unfortunately, it appears that the media has moved away from reporting news in a genuine, unbiased manner, but instead has shifted towards pushing particular agendas when convenient. We've grasped the entertainment aspect of sports, but with all that has happened recently, could the world of athletics be teaching a larger lesson?

No matter where you are in the world it has become apparent that people of color are under constant attack. Time after time we are seeing instances where Black people, especially Black men, are at the unfortunate end of political, social, and physical abuses. Are there historical explanations for the way the world views Black people? Is Black America at war with the police? Does the community have a role in the way that it is viewed by the rest of the world?
